New Collection Pepe Jeans

This season, Pepe Jeans London is taking a journey: the spring/summer 2017 womenswear collection underpinned by the idea of the journey as an experience through life - and one's wardrobe - and which is played out through three of its large capsule collections in particular: Portobello, Blue Soul and W11.

Portobello

In this youthful capsule, attention turns to what the shopper does in their free time and the importance of friends, relationships, sharing emotions and new experiences for the first time. And so a vibrant rainbow colour palette sets the scene for pieces that are urban in aesthetic approach, easy to wear, comfortable and which are about attitude and style - how they're worn. Graphic T-shirts with slogans, therefore, are key; denim of course is of great importance -from shorts and high-waist pants to dungarees - and tropical prints bring it altogether.

Blue Soul

A core collection, this is all about being blue - but not in the sorrowful sense. This is a celebration of the shade in all of its very many tones, with corals added to the mix this time, too. Authentic with age-old techniques, indigo and denim - for jackets and shorts and shirts - are emblematic of the Pepe Jeans London story, as well as indicative of nature, the ocean, of travel as inspiration. Embroideries and vintage fabrics; tie-dye; deep-dyed blue, batik and patchwork; these make up the elements of this collection for organic patterns, natural fibres and the touch of the hand.

W11

Marking the end of the Pepe Jeans London spring/summer 2017 fashion exploration is the W11 collection, which takes its style cues from the West Indies, combining references from its British colonial past with the existing sensuality of the region: a mix of earth and vibrant colours from tropical fruits, birds and lush forests. Garments are utilitarian with lingerie notes for ruffles and more overtly feminine silhouettes. Botanical prints join with military references; pastel colours feature alongside summer blends and new wash finishes. Especially important here is the use of basic fibres such as linen and cotton, viscose and satin.
